'Get Active' strikes again

Once again, our centres opened their doors to a FREE family fun packed Get Active Weekend in September aimed at showcasing the fantastic facilities that are on offer at our community leisure centres.

In line with the Fitness Industry Association’s (FIA) More Active for Life Campaign, local residents were encouraged to swap the remote control for a pair of trainers and head on down to their local centre to have a taste of what’s on offer.

From group fitness to samba dance classes and face painting to free health checks, there promised to be something for everyone. Designed to help people take their first step in becoming more active more often; Harpers invited every member of the community to join in with a range of activities, free!

Research suggests that around 50% of the population are inactive and don’t gain any health benefits from being active or exercising so community open days are the perfect opportunity to take the first steps towards a more active and fitter lifestyle.
