St Albans Sport & Health Development Teamachieve Quest success!!
Quest, the tool for continuous improvement, designed for the management of leisure facilities and leisure development, has awarded the Sport & Health Development team in St Albans a fantastic score of 88% in a recent audit.
As part of the Leisure Connection group working on behalf of the St Albans District Council, the team is responsible for delivering a number of physical activity projects and community events across the City and District. These include the St Albans Half Marathon, Team St Albans in the Herts Youth Games, St Albans Special Olympics, Sport in the Parks, Adopt a School, Exercise Referral Scheme, Active St Albans and Passport to Leisure to name but a few.
Sport and Health Development manager for Leisure Connection in St Albans, Chris Gregory said: “2008 has been a fantastic year for the team and this external rating has completed it perfectly. Participation in sport and physical activity is a prominent topic at the moment because of the health benefits it brings and the Olympics only three years away. The projects we deliver across the district aim to encourage and support residents to become physically active on a regular basis. So the recognition from Quest that we are delivering an excellent service is confirmation we are heading in the right direction”.
