Leisure Connection aims to be the partner of choice for those organisations looking to achieve value and impact from their leisure, sports and arts provision.

We deliver a first class local leisure service to the millions of people who enjoy sport and physical activity. We fully support the Fitness Industry Association's aim of getting more people, more active, more often and we look to achieve this through the delivery of innovative and popular programming.

Leisure Connection’s core proposition is the provision of private sector quality facilities within a public access environment.

Passionate about people

  • Continued growth of our unique Apprenticeship programme working in conjunction with the Learning and Skills Council – over 350 members of staff actively part of the Apprenticeship programme.
  • Provision of training and development for all the work force, ensuring all team members receive regular appraisals and have career progression plans.
  • Developing the skills of the entire workforce so they can contribute more to growing the value we provide to the local community.
  • Partnership with Lifetime Training to deliver a wide range of NVQs, management and customer service skills to the entire workforce.
  • We have secured funding from Learning and Skills Council to support out training and development strategy.

Exceeding expectations

  • We have a very strong customer service ethos achieving zero unresolved customer complaints.
  • We have partnerships and alignment with the leading industry suppliers.
  • We have an average Quest score of 74% and rising, considerably higher than national average score against our major competitors.
  • From an operational, marketing and system perspective we have worked closely with Local Authorities and the Government to maximise the free swimming initiative.
  • We have helped overcome adversity on the back of the flood damage and working closely with the Local Authority to ensure that facilities are back up and running as quickly as possible.
  • We continue to roll out and install new look Harpers brand with world class design and equipment, delivering private sector quality in a public access environment.

Connecting the community to leisure

  • We have development and implement bespoke free swim packages for Local Authorities that sit outside of the free swim initiative.
  • The successful opening of four world class sites at Willesden Sports Centre, Downham Health and Lifestyle Centre, the Grove Theatre in Dunstable and Harpers at Sleaford.
  • Helping to overcome barriers and enabling excluded or hard to reach groups to participate in sport and leisure on a daily basis.
  • The use of sport, physical activity and leisure to promote healthy lifestyles, underpinned by the principles of equity and social inclusion.
  • A unique partnership with National Governing Bodies through managing Sport England contracts. This relationship allows Leisure Connection to deliver specialist coaching courses, increasing participation in a wide range of sporting activities.

Maximising usage, minimising costs

  • We are seeing strong life for life growth in fitness membership sales with over 60,000 direct debit members using our facilities.
  • Harpers Swim School grows each year with now over 40,000 children currently enrolled on our courses.
  • We have invested in state of the art barrier control system enhancements in all our leisure sites – ensuring effective data capture.
  • Through our new accessible, affordable personal training offering we are seeing PT sales grow at a tremendous rate.
  • We have streamlined processes to eliminate inefficiencies, more closely matching team hours in line with client and Local Authority profiles and expectations.
