Harpenden Town Gain Adult Charter Standard Status from the Hertfordshire FA!!
Representatives of Harpenden Town FC attended the Hertfordshire FA's annual Charter Standard Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 27th June to receive confirmation of their Adult Charter Standard Status. Harpenden is only the 6th Adult football club in the county to receive this status and looks forward to helping to promote the game to all!
The club has been working towards the Football Associations Adult Club Charter Standard Award for the past year to standardise the way the club is run, whilst creating a development plan for the club to work towards. Charter Standard Status signifies that Harpenden Town FC is committed to offering a safe and friendly environment to their own and visiting players, officials and supporters.
Club Chairman Brian Hicks said; "The club has recently appointed a completely new committee and management team and see the Charter Standard Status as a great way to rebuild the club. Harpenden Town FC has been treading water for the past few years and suffered both on and off the pitch, so with the support of the Hertfordshire FA through Charter Standard Status we hope to create a new, more community friendly club".
Harpenden Town FC hopes to build on the successes already achieved this summer with the World Cup parties and the World Cup Seven on Saturday 8th July at the clubs Rothamsted Park ground. By forging greater links with local football especially to establish links with youth football so we can offer local youngsters the opportunity to support and eventually play for their local senior football team.
Any local sponsors looking to be involved in one of the leading adult clubs in the county should contact the Clubs Commercial team by email on ADAMA.SMITH@AMEC.COM We have various sponsorship packages available so no matter how small or large the contribution we would like to hear from you.
Pre season training starts on Thursday 6th July at Rothamsted Park from 7.00pm, the club warmly welcomes new players and potential committee members to attend.

Funding News!
HIGHFIELD PARK TRUST AND CITY YOUTH
CELEBRATE FOOTBALL FUNDING SUCCESS
Footballers in St Albans are celebrating today following a
£164,653 award by the Football Foundation, the UK's largest sports
charity.
The cash bonanza will allow Highfield Park Trust to construct a new
pavilion with changing facilities for use by St Albans City Youth
Football Club and other teams and organisations in Highfield
Park.
As the existing changing provision is insufficient and impractical
being ten minutes walk from the junior pitches. This is having
detrimental effect on sustaining participation numbers. The new
development will provide the St Albans with a facility that can
service both the football and cricket needs in addition to
provision of a small social room, which the area lacks.
The Football Foundation is dedicated to revitalising the grass
roots of the game, constructing modern football facilities,
developing football as a force for social cohesion and as a vehicle
for education in communities throughout the country. Funded by the
FA Premier League, The Football Association, Sport England and the
Government, the Football Foundation is the nation's largest sports
charity with a £45m budget going straight into the heart of
football.
Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation
said:
"We warmly congratulate the Trust in association with St Albans
City Youth Football Club and the local FA for their hard work and
dedication in securing this award.
"Grass roots football is the lifeblood of the game in this country
which is why is vital that projects such as this now have the
benefit of Foundation cash."
Roger Thomas, Chairman of Highfield Park Trust, said:
"We are delighted with the grant, and the provision of this
facility completes the Trust's ten year development plan to create
a new 60 acre Park in St Albans with a range of facilities you
everyone, of all ages and abilities, to enjoy.
"The grant award from the Football Foundation is phase two of the
process of creating grass root football facilities in the Park. The
first phase - the drainage of two sports fields, again with the
financial support of the Foundation, was completed in 2005. Thank
you the Football Foundation."
