Harpenden Public Halls is the ideal venue for various kinds of meetings, seminars, conferences, trainings, presentations, exhibitions, antiques and craft fairs, concerts, theatre performances, weddings, parties and other private functions.

The Eric Morecambe Hall, which has a fully operational stage and all technical facilities including a resident technician and dressing rooms, seats 260 for dining or 390 theatre style. The Southdown Room holds seats 80 for dining or 120 for a meeting.

The Eric Morecambe Hall is a 440-seat theatre at its maximum capacity (all seating on the same level). It can be adapted to tiered seating which reduces the capacity between 10-15%. With its 26' wide stage and newly refurbished dressing rooms it can truly provide you with a uniquely intimate theatrical experience. As well as being an excellent theatrical facility, the Eric Morecambe Hall lends itself easily to almost any occasion and is also the ideal venue for wedding receptions, boasting a capacity of 280 seats for banqueting.

The Southdown Room (SDR)

The Southdown Room

The Southdown Room is smaller than the Eric Morecambe Hall and is the ideal conferencing facility which boasts a fully equipped sound system, fixed screen and video projector. Able to seat approx 90 theatre style, the Southdown Room can easily accommodate boardroom or classroom style meetings as well.

The Southdown Room is also the ideal venue for exhibitions and has hosted many kinds of both Art and Photography exhibitions in the past. Its versatility and competitive pricing make the Southdown Room your number one stop whatever your event is.
