Leisure Connection re-opened its new-look Harpers fitness gym at the Blackwater Leisure Centre on Thursday 2nd October. This forms part of a new nationwide initiative to re-brand all Harpers gyms to offer customers the same high quality environment to exercise wherever they are in the UK.
The newly refurbished swimming centre features £240,000 worth of Technogym equipment and the new Human sport equipment from Star Trac. The new gym features the latest in gym design and has been designed into 4 distinct areas. There is a new Spin Zone, a cardio vascular zone, a cable zone and a PT zone to give members the perfect environment in which to get fit.
Blackwater Leisure Centre, which is owned by Maldon District Council and managed by Leisure Connection, has been designed to a high specification and features 55 new pieces of world leading Technogym equipment. The centre features NXT spin bikes, regarded as the best design of spin bike in the world and also incorporates group activity classes in the fitness studio.
There has also been considerable ongoing investment into
improving the communal areas throughout the leisure centre and
updating the existing colour scheme as well as replacing the
carpets with high quality laminate flooring throughout the Harpers
gym.
Currently Harpers at the Blackwater Leisure Centre has 2000 members
and it's hoped that this new look flagship facility will encourage
more people in the local community to visit this centre and enjoy
the benefits of regular exercise.
Kevin Yates, Harpers Brand Manager said: "We are thrilled with the look and feel of the centre and we are pleased that the new centre will be opened by the two paralympians. Danny Crates regularly trains at the leisure centre and it seemed fitting that he should re-open the leisure centre after its refurbishment. The new centre looks fantastic and shows that public access leisure centres can have private sector quality. Leisure Connection is committed to the ongoing roll out of the new Harpers re-fresh and we currently have 10 other refurbishments in the pipeline."
