Arts, Sports & Health
04 November 2006
More than 50 children gathered at Bowmansgreen Primary School this Halloween to join the fun at their Arty Party.
Participants arrived in fancy dress and were invited to take part in creating a giant Halloween picture based on the theme of dreams and nightmares with local artist, Joanna Scott.
The party took place as part of the 7th Annual Big Draw, an event organized by The National Campaign for Drawing and involved a mix of refreshments, Halloween themed party food, games, entertainment from Dizzy Wizzy, competitions and prizes.
The initiative was developed by Leisure Connection's St. Albans Arts, Sport & Health Development Team and London Colney Parish Council, with the help of Sandra Smith and her team at Design-A-Party.
The aim of the event was to enable children and family groups to enjoy Halloween in a safe environment, whilst having the opportunity to experiment and try something different.
The event was enjoyed by all, with one parent saying 'It's been
a brilliant evening, much better that Trick or Treating!'
