Harpers Gym at the National water sports centre benefits from £120,000 investment programme
Harpers Gym, situated at the National Water Sport Centre at Holme Pierrepont Nottingham, is to re open its doors on the 19th February after benefiting from a £120,000 investment programme to renew and regenerate the gym.
The money has been used to replace all existing Harpers gym equipment with new state of the art Technogym equipment.
Holme Pierrepont is one of the first Leisure Connection centres across their nationwide estate to install the new Technogym range, following its appointment as preferred supplier for the entire Harpers Fitness estate.
The gym will be opened by representatives from Nottinghamshire County Council and Sport England as well as Olympic canoeist Campbell Walsh who won a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
The newly refurbished gym is available for the local community as well as providing a training home to some of the countries top water sports athletes. The gym enjoys impressive views across the 2km regatta lake creating the perfect environment for people of all ages and abilities to exercise and keep active.
Simon Leisure Connection's Contract Manager said: "The investment into our Harpers Gym is fantastic news for the community as well as the current users of the centre. Leisure Connection, in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council is committed to supporting more people who want to become more active more often. We hope that our refurbishment will encourage those who aren't exercising to come along and see what all the fuss is about and to make exercise and physical activity a part of their everyday lifestyle."
