  • Leisure Connection scoops energy efficiency award.

    04-Feb-09
Leisure Connection, the UK’s leading leisure facility provider, has been recognised for its hard work in making its leisure centres more environmentally friendly.

The company, which operates 70 leisure centres across the country, recently won the Client of the Year Award at the Low Carbon Awards, hosted by the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE).

Leisure Connection beat off stiff competition from Somerfield to scoop the award for all the work carried out in encouraging environmental awareness on sites, for its technical trials of energy efficient products and the rollout of these products across its estate.

Paul Bailey, Head of Property Services for Leisure Connection said: “I am delighted that we have received national recognition for the hard work being carried out by the Technical Team, our Energy Champions and Local Authority partners to reduce our carbon footprint and costs. I expect this award to be the springboard for even more energy savings in the future. Leisure Connection is fully committed to improving the energy efficiency across our estate and will continue to invest in the best technology and practice to achieve this.

The CIBSE Low Carbon Awards were first launched in 2008 and proved to be an outstanding success attended by guests from all sectors of the Building Services Industry. The awards showcase innovative and inspirational low carbon solutions and are open to CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants, CIBSE Low Carbon Energy Assessors and to participants of the 100 Hours of Carbon Clean Up campaign.
