Non-sporting leisure facilities also form a core part of the Leisure Connection offer. Theatres, art venues and a Natural World Centre are all additional elements of the Leisure Connection package.
Grove Theatre

Grove Theatre is a brand new venue situated in Grove House Gardens, Dunstable, and forms part of the Grove Park complex, which consists of the theatre, three restaurants and bars alongside the Leisure Centre and GObowling. Grove Theatre offers a mixed and diverse entertainment programme of the highest quality incorporating drama, dance, music, comedy, musicals, spectacular pantomime and community performances. Alban Arena

The Alban Arena is situated in the centre of the historic town of St Albans. It features an 856 seated auditorium for shows and the facility to provide a flat floor space that increases the capacity to 1200. Meeting rooms are available for private hire. The Alban Arena is a well established entertainment venue with a busy programme of National Touring Shows, rock and pop concerts, comedy, films, large scale exhibitions and the region's most popular Christmas Pantomime. Harpenden Public Halls

The Halls are set on the edge of Harpenden Common and offer an ideal venue for your function in very attractive surroundings. There is a choice of two halls for hire, accommodating both small and large occasions. A licensed bar is available and can also offer kitchen facilities. The Eric Morecambe Hall is also available for hire as a theatre. The auditorium seats 380 and a technical specification is available on application. More information
Terry O’Toole Theatre

The Terry O'Toole Theatre, situated in North Hykeham, Lincolnshire, is a multifunctional performing arts venue. Its initial conception was, and remains, a collaboration between North Kesteven School (a Specialist School for the Performing Arts), Lincolnshire County Council and North Kesteven District Council. The theatre is used by amateur and professional companies alike and because of its flexible seating arrangements and state of the art technical equipment it has become a popular venue for many of the region's arts projects. The Hub

The Hub National Centre for Craft & Design, based in a re-modelled seed warehouse in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, is a rich resource, serving a large community of people interested in the arts, craft and design. The Main Gallery shows large scale exhibitions that change every couple of months. It features a high quality cinema screen and projector. The Roof Gallery leads to balconies with fantastic views that look across the town. The Education studio, Studio 4, is heavily used by a wide range of groups, including short course workshops and schools. This space is available to hire. More information
The Natural World Centre

The Natural World Centre is a state of the art visitor centre in the heart of Whisby Nature Park, a local nature reserve with six miles of walks around five lakes. The centre includes exhibition space, a balcony overlooking Thorpe Lake and the Boardwalk Café. More information
St Albans Arts, Sports and Health (SAASH)

The development team within SAASH delivers community development projects as well as managing special events throughout the District. The sport and health team will continue to develop the infrastructure that identifies and promotes opportunities for the community to become involved with and stay involved with sport and physical activity. By focusing on developing health and well-being schemes activity levels will increase and in turn promote the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle. More information

artsNK is a unique team of visual and performing arts specialists who initiate and support arts projects across the North Kesteven District. artsNK also inputs into projects and programmes at venues around the district including The Hub National Centre for Craft and Design, Terry O'Toole Theatre and the Natural World Centre and Nature Park at Whisby. Extreme NK

Extreme NK is a Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) funded inititative, hosted by Leisure Connection, which has been running since August 2006. It offers young people the chance to experience more adventurous activities as well as providing a youth referral programme and a mobile skate park. More information
